Typical Village HouseOne of the typical houses of families in this part of the country, along the road from gwa to Thandwe. It can be considered a medium class house here, some are even worst. Here a big family is living, grandparents, parents and children. No water or electricity in most of these ones.

Fishing TimeTwo fishermen in the area of Kanthaya, here just a few km north of Gwa the fishing methods are totally different.

Lonely FishermanFishing in this area is more an individual job than in other places in Burma, the traditional dresses and the typical hut are also distinctive.

Preparing the fish IAfter spending all the morning in the sea with the small boat and the hand-made net fishing, around noon is time to go back to town and take off all the catch of the day from the boat to continue working on it.

Preparing the fish IIHere, fishing is a subsistence way of living for all members of the family, young and old women work together cleaning and preparing the fish to be dried later under the sun.

Kanthaya Coast ViewAs well as of the beach time you can also enjoy a hike to one of the small hills near the sea north of Kanthaya, and get from there an impressive view of this region.

Lovely SunsetChanging from the usual beach sunset is also an option around Kanthaya, just pick one of the rivers and enjoy it while local people return to home before gets totally dark.
